This free supplemental program is for beginning-readers ages five and up who are ready to learn to read. It can also be used for remedial reading instruction with students who have a low capability level, learning disabilities or who are dyslexic. The sounding chart provides clues to the sounds that letter patterns make. Then students use flashcards, read short stories and complete comprehension sheets to practice the letter patterns in individual words and then in context. The design of the program offers elements for precision instruction and features for self-correcting so students can practice reading independently. A component is also available for students who are struggling with multisyllabic words (long, hard words) to assist them in reading materials at a third-grade level and above. Materials are free for you to copy and use to teach reading but cannot be sold or modified without permission of the developer.
